It’s 1:45 a.m., not exactly prime time for chaos, yet here I am, fresh out of surgery, lying in bed Googling “Do I need to call my doctor if an ice pack leaks on me?”These packs are supposed to be easy to “fold and pop” for cooling. Cute idea until you realize you need the strength of a WWE wrestler to actually activate them. I followed the directions exactly: folded the pack while still in the outer plastic to pop it, then opened it up like it says to do. The second I did, the thing must’ve ripped open internally, because cold liquid came pouring out all over my legs, pants, and floor.The box cheerfully says, “Consult your doctor if contact occurs.” So instead of resting and healing, I’m scrubbing chemicals off myself in the middle of the night and questioning all my life choices.If you’re postpartum or post-surgery (whatever your reason for being here is), save yourself the drama and buy a reusable gel pack that doesn’t turn recovery into a late-night chemistry experiment.While the outer material used is very soft, they’re also extremely bulky, impossible to walk around in… waddling only. The ones you get for free in the hospital are far superior.Signed, an annoyed post-op person currently sitting with a bag of frozen peas in my pants instead of a “comfy” ice pack.

Worked Great for Postpartum
My wife did a natural home birth, and these pads were lifesavers for her in her first week postpartum. They comes with instructions on how to activate them and they’re super easy to use, just fold them in half and squeeze to start the cooling process. They’re very absorbent too, and don’t need to be used with any additional pads. I think we order around 4 boxes total to get through the first week, and they were well worth it!

They would not pop to turn cold. Even my husband tried and couldn’t do it. Such a waste and being newly postpartum I needed them and they were useless since they wouldn’t pop to turn cold as described

Sticky on wrong side
The sticky portion is on the pad side not the ice pack side, so it essentially will only work as ice pack, not pad as well. I would not buy this again. Ice pack does get very cold and served it’s purpose though

Must-Have PostPartum – Convenient and Efficient!
10/10 must have for postpartum moms who have vaginal delivery. When I was at the hospital, they made a make-shift version of this with ice in a bag and it was AWFUL. And that didn’t include the thick pad they also gave me… These are sleek and thin enough where they fit in your underwear without making it so bulky. The two in one design (absorption and cooling) is very convenient!Just like you’ve seen on tiktok or in the other postpartum kits, this is an instant pack that you “break” it and it starts cooling. It surprisingly gets quite cool pretty quickly! It is a must-have when recovering from birth. I can’t emphasize enough how convenient and efficient it is to have these that not only are cooling but also are an absorbent pad that soaks up a good amount.Do yourself a favor and get these instead of a package of instant cooling packs AND a bunch of pads. This is a great 2 in 1 design that is very efficient!
