This Kaplan LSAT book is going to take me to Law School. So far as I study the explanations are provide easy understanding. I am learning that the cornerstone of the LSAT is learning the not so complexity of Formal Logic. Great book that will save me money on course prep.

It’s outdated
I believe that if you are buying this book, 2025-2026 edition or later, it should have been edited to reflect how the tests will be on that year or how they were the year it was published (December 2024), and it is, to a certain point, but there are multiple direct references to the logic games section, which was taken out before August of 2024. If a big publisher like Kaplan didn’t care to proofread their book I don’t think it’s going to be a good one. Go thrifting for the old edition or another book altogether, save yourself some money. I bought it on sale, but still.

I liked that this book was updated because the LSAT exam is changing as of 2024. This book should not solely be used for the LSAT, but it is good to be used in conjunction with the powerscore bibles, real LSAT practice exams, and the LSAT trainer.

Printing Issue with Practice Questions
Overall, this is an adequate review book for the LSAT. However, in Chapter 5, every practice question in my copy was not printed with its respective question stem. It would just be the stimulus and question, but no answer choices were printed. However, the answer choices were provided in the “Expert Analysis” of the question on the following page. This made Chapter 5 a bit awkward. I ended up skipping it altogether and used LawHub for that material.

So, I scored 168 on the LSAT and I got into law school.I wouldn’t say Kaplan is the optimal LSAT study prep, it’s just OK. I think it overemphasizes these strategies that are really sort of a waste of your time, and you likely can’t even implement on the LSAT because you have 35 minutes per section. You barely have time to write anything down. The most useful thing about this book was the beginning sections which talk about propositional logic, if you’re not familiar, and the practice questions with detailed explanations. I personally found LSAT Demon more beneficial and I recommend that to people over this. Did it ultimately help me? Probably a bit. But if I could go back I would spend way more time practicing and learning from my mistakes and much less time memorizing useless strategies.
