Pricey but worth it
I used to use Desitin until I saw how horrible the ingredients truly were. This is a bit pricey but a little goes a long way. No rashes or issues. It smells great ( a faint scent), very light despite it being tallow. But I love the ingredients. I will continue to buy as I value and care about what I am putting on my baby’s skin. And the packaging is adorable and looks great in her changing area!

This balm definitely costs more than what you’ll find at the drugstore, but the quality actually justifies it because you’re getting something handmade in small batches with a clean ingredient list that doesn’t include petroleum or any artificial fragrances. I’ve been using it on my daughter’s diaper area for about a month now, and it’s become one of my favorite baby products mostly because it works and I feel good about what’s going on her skin. The texture is pretty thick and firm, so it takes a few seconds of warmth from your finger to soften it up before you apply it, but honestly a tiny amount goes a really long way. You rub it in and it doesn’t leave your baby feeling greasy, just protected and moisturized. The zinc oxide does leave a white cast that you’ll see in the diaper area, but since it’s covered anyway, that’s not a problem. The Amallow Baby Bum Balm works as described. This balm provides a good thick barrier, so the skin stays dry. It caused no irritation or allergic reaction. The balm is easy to apply. It stays white when applied. After it’s wiped off, a thin clear layer stays on the skin. To remove the balm completely, the skin needs to be washed with soap and water. The bum balm is advertised as fragrance free, but in my opinion, it does have an unpleasant scent. The scent might not be a problem, because it’s designed for a baby’s bum. This is a good product, but definitely overpriced.
