    highly recommend CW-X shorts
Perfect CW-X shorts that provide compression AND joint support. Snug, stays in place, doesn’t ride down. There are panels that wrap around the thigh a bit in the right place to provide that needed muscle and joint support. Highly recommend.

    Love them
Great running tights. This is my 4th Stabilyx. They are very durable and offer very good support and compression.

Got EDS? These are for you.
There, saved you time. These will hold you together so you can do fun things without braces. I still tape my knees, but I can hike, snowboard, and work out comfortably and my SI joints, lumbar spine, hips, and knees all stay together and aligned. They are extreeeemely tight, and more of a thick tight than a legging. If you have janky hands, POTS, or other weird things, know that getting in and out of them might require some finesse and a little break when you finish. Or midway through. To prevent rolling, I got some suspenders designed for leggings I wear underneath. (Thanks Daddy Bezos?) If you have gastroparesis like I do, I’m sorry. It’s worth it to me to do the things I love, and at this price, that’s saying something.

Ugh. These are made for hipless creatures
First I bought the small. I wear small in everything. I am a very petit older woman. Once I managed to get the smalls on I could not breathe, so I exchanged them for a medium. The exchange went smoothly, and the medium fits everywhere else but the waist. These are made for a different body shape. I will keep them because I don’t ever want to claim I am wearing a large, and I believe the legs would be too loose. Ridiculous. The maker should examine the manufacture of the waist on these shorts. They certainly don’t require the drawstring that is included. You can be sure I will never buy another pant from them again. If it is possible through washing them maybe the waist will loosen up, but I doubt it. My first and last pair of bicycle shorts. Ugh.

    Great product!
Very happy with these – the fit isn’t as snug as the tights, but every BODY is different, they were just right, whereas some of the CW-X tights in the same size were difficult to get back in place on a long run/bathroom break. I honestly could feel the support in hams/gluts on a mountain trail run, and I DO think they helped, maybe placebo, maybe true – either way, I like them very much, and better than the tights. Seem to hold odor more than others, but comfort is spot on. If you have larger thighs/knee chunk (yes, even some fit people have that) they will show a bulge, but really, it was worth it – I even had someone on the trail tell me I looked “so fit and in shape”, which was probably being over nice, but maybe due to these. My husband laughed and told me I had no body fat in them – so if looks are important (which my times on the mountain are more important to me) you probably would be thrilled. And the times on the mountain seemed better too.

    Don’t buy these shorts
I have the CW-X Stabilyx long compression pants & loved them so much I bought a second pair. I hike the Grand Canyon frequently, & when wearing the long version, I have no muscle soreness at all. I tried the shorts on my last trip because it was hot & I wore them on my uphill hike because you work your quads & glutes & don’t really need much stabilization of the calf muscles. They did nothing at all for me. After my hike out, all my muscles were sore. Save your money – don’t buy these shorts! The long compression pants are worth every penny. Buy those instead.

Best compression shorts and I tried lots of others
I needed to start wearing compression shorts for running my dog in agility since I have a history of pulling my hamstrings and recently pulled my gluteus medius which was surprisingly painful. Ordered lots of different styles and kept these. They are designed intelligently for their purpose, wear well with no riding up and keep my ill-behaved muscles in check. I ordered the small based on the size chart but returned them for a medium which I am much happier with. The small was likely the best compression for me but just too tight to be comfy. The medium offers support and comfort. I am 120 pounds and just under 5 feet. They are pricey but well worth avoiding another muscle strain and the consequent downtime and rehab.11/10/20 edit: Five years later and this pair of compression shorts is still going strong. I love them so much I just ordered two more. I was prepared to pay the $72 I paid for my first pair but was thrilled to get them for $45 this time! When I tried the “Buy it again” option they were no longer available but then I chose “Visit the CW-X Store” and found them (same CW-X item number). I’ve lost 10 pounds since I wrote this review in 2015 but they still fit great. I often wear them under leggings for chilly hikes. Always hang dry and these compressions will last you….mine look brand new.

    Great compression
I like these and they offer excellent compression. The only reason I gave these four stars is because the waistband is a little uncomfortable (it’s scratchy) and the tie at the waist is way too long.

I’ve been running in CW-X shorts/capris/tights for years. For me they are the best compression wear available and they last for years! But they are getting more difficult to find, so I am thankful I can still order on Amazon. I am not sure the Ventilator short is really any better/cooler than the non-ventilating shorts.
