Installation Tips
The locks can be affected by any Iron/Metal (Screws, nails or staples) that may be present inside the cabinet doors, and not visible. Before installing the lock with the adhesive, move it around the inside of the door, leaving the lock in the locked position. If the locks does not pop up, it has detected a ferrous metal inside the cabinet door. Simply move the lock away until the locks can pop up, and install the lock in that position.
TOP MOST COMMON ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS
· LOCK DOES NOT POP UP
– Since the locks also contain a magnet, they can be affected by any Iron/Metal (Screws, nails or staples) that may be present inside the cabinet doors. These are usually pressed in during the manufacturing process and are often not visible. Before installing the lock, you can move it around the inside of the door, leaving the lock in the locked position. If the locks does pop up, it has detected a ferrous metal inside the cabinet door. Simply move the lock away until the locks can pop up. Locks won’t work on metal cabinet doors and drawers.
· LOCK WON’T UNLOCK
– Ensure there is adequate space between the small flat latches and the cabinet or dresser frame so that the door or drawer can open slightly (approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch) when locked. We strongly recommend using the installation template provided and watching the installation video before installing the locks. (The installation template is included in the package.)
· LOCK DOES NOT STICK
– The effectiveness of the adhesive depends largely on the surface of your cabinets. Ensure that the attachment surfaces are clean and free of oils or furniture wax. The adhesive tape may not adhere well to all surfaces, especially slippery formica or old/rough layers of paint. In such cases, a thin layer of tape Primer may be necessary. Alternatively, screws can be used as an optional attachment method.

Does this scratch your cabinets?
The magnet it pretty powerful and make contact by hovering over the lock on the inside. Rubbing would scratch your white finish but rubbing is not required to use these stronger vmaisi brand magnets.
Is it easy to remove? Will it stick the painting of the furniture?
Yes they remove clean with alcohol. You need to be careful taking them off, to not peel off any part of your cabinet.
Some locks are not staying in the lock position. Is this a defect?
It turns out the the metal cabinet knob or possibly the metal screw holding the knob had become magnetized. So just moved the lock about a half an inch further away from the metal knob and then it worked!
Drawers of my dresser does not even close properly. How to solve the issue?
For inset drawers, the included tool aids in placing the catch deep enough to allow the drawer to close. Most of the dresser drawers required to mount the lock sideways (it still functions!). The included inset ruler tool works well to solve this.

I installed the Vmaisi Adhesive Magnetic Cabinet Locks in our kitchen and bathroom, and they’ve been surprisingly reliable after several weeks of daily use. Wowww this magnetic carbine lock is fire. Easily the best one I’ve used. It’s super simple, no extra hassle, and it works exactly how it’s supposed to. I fixed mine in under 3 minutes, no joke. Great and easy for daily use safety locks! Very confusing instructions for installation but once you figure them out it’s actually simple to instal!

These things are cool.
Hidden lock!?!?! Very cool. It works really well and there’s so many ways to mount them. I would recommend using the screws over just adhesive tape tho. Cabinet door no problem, sliding door no problem, Drawer no problem, anything that swings slides or opens you should be able to use these on. Perfect for keeping kids or people out but easy for you if you know what to do. I would give these about 100lbs force rating if set up properly. Obviously they are plastic so if someone wants to force them open then they probably will get thru or break the door trying.

Using this lock to keep our beagle out of the trash can which is housed in a drawer. After trying multiple things to keep her out, I finally bit the bullet and decided it was time to drill into the cabinet. It installed quickly and easily and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.It has successfully kept her out of the trash despite her digging and scratching at the cabinet. I installed the key conveniently next to the cabinet on the front of the oven (the lock part screws in to the cabinet but the key part has a strong sticky backed holder and the magnet sits in that)The blue optional stickers come with it but I used my label maker to add “lock” and “key” so that guests could easily see how to open the trash can. The lock can also be temporarily disabled once the cabinet has been opened with a little lever that sits under the latch.We recently had a gathering at our house and all the kids enjoyed the novelty of opening the trash can. Obviously if you were using this for toddlers instead of a dog you could either leave the blue sticker off so they wouldn’t know where to hover the magnet or just place the key out of reach.Pro tip: install the lock as close as you can to the drawer or cabinet pull/knob. Otherwise it will require both hands to open the cabinet (one to hold the key over the lock and the other hand to pull the drawer or cabinet open). See video for visual.

Good concept but only 3 of 4 locks work…so far
The kit came with 4 latches and 2 magnetic locks. The install template works surprisingly well. Great concept. And the magnet used to unlock works fine so far. However, 1 of the 4 latches doesn’t pop up properly. Of course it’s one of the two I wound up installing. I can MacGiver it using the magnet to lock but it will release after a couple of tugs. So I’m giving it 75% of 5 stars and rounding down. I’m not looking forward to ripping the 3M tape to replace the malfunctioning one. Fortunately it’s on an inner surface.

Easy enough to install and works well! Has stayed locked when my toddler is pulling on the doors.We have it installed under our kitchen sink and the “key”/ magnet is on the window ledge above the sink. Works well for us.One comment and not a complaint, just something I didn’t think through -I was thinking of putting these in each bathroom and in the kitchen and possibly in the laundry room. But I would have to purchase more of the key magnets. It comes with a number of locks but not the key magnets of course so I just didn’t think that part through that I’m not going to run from one room to another grabbing the key when I need under the bathroom sink.
