I bought 2 rolls of this tape to use on some post surgical scars. Unfortunately this tape doesn’t stick very well at all since it doesn’t stay put I can’t imagine it will help scars very much.

Seems to Improve Appearance Gradually
If you have light skin these are effective in camouflaging old scars and freshly healing wounds due to their light flesh color. If applied consistently they do seem to gradually improve healing and softening of the appearance of older scars. If you have or are going to have a surgical procedure these are definitely worth trying. I had a tender area on a scar that had become irritated and these effectively protected and hid it until it calmed down. They seem to adhere best on flatter areas without a lot of movement although they did stay put even with a shower on a surgical scar that runs horizontally on my neck. This is not going to eliminate an old scar in a matter of weeks but a fresh wound will heal faster and months of consistent use will improve the appearance of older scars.

First, let’s go to my photos. I included a pair of eye glasses for scale, because it surprised me that the package was so small. However, the roll of tape is appropriate for its intended use. My second photo shows the roll of tape without packaging, where you can see the texture of the tape. For what it’s worth to point out, once you apply the tape, it is smooth and shiny on the skin, without texture. Now, about the tape’s features: I don’t have a scar at the moment, but wanted to properly test this product, so I applied a piece to the back of my hand. There, the tape got a good work-out with repeated hand washings and even an over-night stay. This morning, the tape was still in place, without movement, and without sticky lint around the edges. I was able to peel it off and then apply that same piece to the same location, and it stuck just as it did the first time. When I say “stuck” I don’t mean to imply that the tape has an adhesive against the skin. No, it simply lays onto the skin and stays there without any other tape needed. The product description doesn’t indicate that a good use for the tape would be to protect a scar or closed wound while showering, but I definitely see that as one of its main advantages, because it stays in place, even when wet. My only suggestion is that if you plan to have the tape on your skin for an extended period of time (say, more than a day), use scissors to round the corner edges of the tape for maximum durability. This tape was comfortable to wear; I didn’t give it a single thought while it was on my hand, and never felt any pinching or tightness. Lastly, it was easy and painless to peel off. Excellent product that I am glad to add to my “band-aid box” for future use.
