Weak against unsuspecting adults, but can be reinforced.
Interesting design. Concept is good, locking mechanism isn’t strong enough to withstand accidental force from adults. The strap can slip out of the “permanent end” with enough pulling force, like a weak zip tie. You can actually remove the lid by lifting the opening a little bit with a knife to release the “teeth”, pull out the lid, and then make it tighter and stronger by reducing the teeth locking space with a strip or two of painters tape on the inside of the lid.

This is my 5 or 6th time ordering these. They are great. Not only does it keep the kids out it stops the cat from opening the lutchen door to the living room. Lol. We were putting a big chair in front of the door to keep the cat out…this crazy cat can actually open the door. Now the cat can no longer open the door. Yay!
