great product, fair price
Great item and works perfectly. No mess, no foul odor. Easy to use*****Product Update*****This waste disposal pail is still great! It’s now mid-December and in 15 Degree weather, snow, sleet, and ice, it is holding up just fine outside. It works just as advertised and is easy to use. It’s simple; tie the end, shove it to the bottom, put the poop bags in, open the “trap” door, poop bags fall in, and when full just open the door, pull the bag material down, cut it with the installed cutter, tie the top end, pull out and throw away. Pull down the new bag material, tie the end, rinse and repeat. The 2-month disposal bag supply lasted me about 2.5 months with a golden retriever. Well worth the price.

A must for dog owners.
I have had dogs my whole life and have struggled with managing the dog’s waste. I first took a look at the Pet Genie and thought it was a gimmick until I watch a product video. This thing is such a good product I want to tell everyone about it. It is so very efficient and simple to use and I have yet to notice any bad odor. I use dog waste bags to pick up the poop and place the bags in the Genie. It works great. I am a customer for life.

Much better than the Litter Champ!! Very happy!!
I originally had the cat litter champ pail. I had it for about a year and the top part of it broke and so I needed a new one. At that point it was discontinued so I was searching around and tried to find something else. I found this one and honestly this one is drastically better than the litter champ. First off, I don’t need to clean the opening top part because the poop isn’t touching it. The way the bag part works is much less complicated. It’s much sturdier than the litter champ. The bags are heavy duty. I have noticed that it also controls the smell much better than the Litter Champ. I have 2 cats and only really have time to change the bag on the weekends. With the Litter Champ it would start to smell by Wednesday or Thursdays but with this one, it doesn’t smell at all.Overall, this was the best purchase ever. (FYI: I bought this in Oct 2025 and I’m just now rating it in Jan 2026 so I gave it time before reviewing)

Great Product – Just a Little Too Small for Our Needs
This is a great product. The pail is lightweight and easy to carry around the yard. It does a good job of reducing the odor and the built-in bag cutter seems to work well. I’m sure it works wonderfully if you have small – medium sized dogs. However, we found that the Genie pail didn’t quit work out for us. We have two dogs – one weighs about 198 lbs, so he tends to leave very obvious piles of poo. We use a small rake (see attached photo) to scoop the poo and unfortunately the pail opening is just a little too small. The opening is approximately 6″ wide, which is about the same width of the rake, so it makes a bit of a mess. We hope Genie makes one with a larger opening to accommodate larger dogs.

Genius Idea!
I LOVE this product. I was using a regular diaper genie before buying this and would have continued to until seeing this. This product uniquely designed for pets is great. It’s a good value for the money. I like the fact that it has a drawer you pull open for the poo sack falls in and once closed, you don’t smell the dog poopies (even in the hot August summer). Just because I’m extra, I sprinkle some baking soda in the plastic bag when I tie a new bag, but you don’t need to. This is a great solution. The refill kits are reasonably priced. This also has a little step on step that flips the lid open for you. It really is a stroke of genius. For comparison, I have an adult male golden retriever who poops 3-4x day. I can fill up the pail to its max in 2 weeks (if I forget to empty it weekly). I usually empty it weekly though. A refill pack usually lasts me 2 months if empty it weekly.

Great Little Waste Pail
This little waste bucket is an odor container. The pail came to us completely assembled. All we had to do was put in the bag and off we went. We live in Florida, and anyone who knows the heat and humidity in Florida can only imagine what it can do to smell of confined dog waste. The smell is enough to knock your socks off. In comes the Pet Genie Pail; this small but mighty little waste bucket will keep that odor safely sealed inside . . . until you open to put in the next bags of waste.We try to open and deposit the waste in tandem so that we minimize the release of the smell as much as possible. Be ware that you need to hold down on the sliding lever when opening the top or it has a tendency to lift the contain instead of just opening. Because we live in the Florida heat, we used three to four dog poop bags including one that uses baking soda to try and stop the odor when container is opened. No luck. We finally found that flushing the pet waste down the toilet and putting used bags into new poop bags and place in the Pet Genie Pail works best for us. (The EPA actually recommends this method . . . please note that you should NOT flush the bag!!)Once we figured this method out, there is zero, and I do mean ZERO smell when opening the Pet Genie Pail. For anyone who’s ever used a Diaper Genie, the bag refill works the exact same way. Tie the end, stretch it down. When you’re ready to toss in the trash, pull a bit of extra bag, cut with the pail’s cutter, tie the top, and voilà . . . toss into trash and start new.We cannot speak for using a pooper scooper with this Pet Genie Pail as we have always used poop bags. The opening does seem a bit small to me for aiming to dump from a scooper of sorts, but someone who has used that method is better suited to review that particular aspect. Nor can we speak to the mobility of the container as we leave it on the porch and don’t carry it around the yard. It does look better than any other option that we came across. The container it self is smaller than one might expect. I’m short, 5 feet and it comes to my knees, but you really don’t need much taller, nor would I think you want taller as it’s small size compels you to change the bag before odor becomes a problem.All in all, a great buy and we are pleased to have found this Pet Genie Pail. The odor locker lever works until the pail is opened to put in new waste. Works just like the Diaper Genie. The Pet Genie Pail is a sturdy container designed just the trusty Diaper Genie and works exactly the same way. (Just for reference, we have one large dog about 75 pounds who regularly goes four times a day . . . a pooping machine as we call her!)

Con il cane che ha libero accesso al giardino, non è semplice tener pulito. Con questo bidone posso raccogliere i bisogni quotidianamente, li deposito nel bidone senza odori, e una volta a settimana taglio il sacchetto e lo smaltisco nel cassonetto.Il meccanismo di chiusura è semplicissimo da usare, ma estremamente efficace: igienico e anti-odore. Ideale per chi ha animali e spazi esterni. Si vede che è progettato da chi conosce le esigenze dei proprietari di cani. Un prodotto funzionale, pratico e davvero utile. Lo consiglio a chi vuole dire addio a odori e sacchetti sparsi ogni giorno!

Todo el funcionamiento es muy bueno, prácticamente no deja salir olores mientras esté cerrado. Yo le haría la boca un poco mas grande para poder echar las heces mas fácilmente.

I bought this 3 months ago and only just had to change the bag cartridge. I clean up approximately 118 poos a week from small dogs!!! (A lot I know!) So the bag cartridge has lasted well. The locking system is simple yet effective and I’ve not had any odour leaking from the bin even through the hot weather June to Sept. Also I’ve noticed there’s not been any flies around it like they used to with my old bin. The size and colour make it easy to hide behind plants so not in sight. It’s has capacity to hold the dog waste for 2 weeks for fortnightly bin day which is perfect for me. This was a lot cheaper than an exterior peddle bin too. Definitely recommend.
