Worth it
I purchased this gate to keep my dog out of the bedrooms and away from the cat who doesn’t get along.It is so much easier to use than other gates which I’ve tried. The self closing feature is the cherry on top.

Simple instructions & Easy to install. No tools needed. Just don’t remove the zip tie holding the gate together until the end!! If you do, just use a clamp to hold the gate together until it’s in place. (can you tell? I cut off the zip tie…sigh). A nice feature is the self closing feature. Easy to open with one hand. Seems sturdy enough to keep puppy out of the living room. Although on the other gate, she was able to squeeze through the side closet to wall as I had the screw almost all the way out. I had to block it with a pool noodle attached to the side gate pole.

Third time was the charm but this last one seems to be what I wanted in a gate.
The first two gates had to be returned. The first gate was damaged and could not be assembled/installed. Upon return and receipt of the new gate – I discovered that it was about 1/3 of inch too long as I apparently had mismeasured. But exchanges were easy and there were ultimately no issues in that arena.I was worried that the third gate might be too small. And it might have been if I had not ordered a second product (Wall Nanny) that gave me that last little bit of thickness that I needed to make the gate feel secure. The gate is snug. I tried to ensure that the adjustment bolts were of equal lengths. It took a couple of small fiddles of the bolt length to have the gate latch strike securely and hold strong.I had to use items to prop up the gate as I installed it and it ended up being manageable – it did take me about 45 minutes. I’m a small woman and my husband wasn’t home. I think it would have been a breeze if he’d been there to hold it steady while I moved it into place after assembly for the proper fitting and adjustments.It feels secure at the moment but I will update the review if I determine that it isn’t as sturdy as it appears during this first day of use.The cost of this gate was very reasonable to me for considering what I was wanting. I thought that I might end up having to hire someone to construct me a custom gate that is needed to ensure that my young dog cannot go counter surfing when I’m not in the kitchen. She’s smart and she is ornery.
